Best Western Saranac Lake

Rooms are spotless staff is very helpful lake placid just down the road great atmosphere flower lake across the street along with liquor store prices are fair I wouldn't listen to Karyn little probably pissed she couldn't get in her overrated high priced hotel the staff here work very hard keeping the hotel going I ve been staying every week for 3 months no problem and very well kept great place to stay in door pool is open this place is always full

Overall a really good experience especially at the price point. The room was clean and the breakfast pretty good. I gave a 4 star because the room was in need of some work. The bed was comfortable and clean but the overall room condition could be improved. I would definetly stay here again. The staff in general were very welcoming and friendly.

There is no other place to stay than here. Clean sheets, pillows, and bathroom. Facility is really outdated, but they make sure the essentials are clean. The towels are so nice and tempting to steal. Lol Staff is amazing and always willing to help. Never anyone at the desk, but they have a bell and come right out from the back. Apple's water.at the counter is great. Breakfast is good. The bagels are amazing.and they have peanut butter and cream cheese for them. The waffle iron did not work nor the pancake machine. They displayed sausage one day and bacon " paper thin" the next morning. The scrambled eggs are not freshly done but from a frozen bag reheated and chopped up. I know I was in the military for over 20 years seen them before. First morning everything was cold they had but a microwave is there if needed. Coffee was below average out of machine, or was on point from a machine as well, but still good tasting. Have fresh milk available and only 2 choices of chex mix. If you're from this area, then you know. Atmosphere is always amazing as everyone talks to all and says good morning. I stay here all of the time as it perfectly placed and again the towels are so nice. Keep up the cleanliness and I will be a fan forever.

Excellent service from a very friendly staff. The manager was very easy to work with when I needed to change the dates on a five room block. The front desk personal were also great. Rooms were clean, the showers had lots of hot water, beds were comfortable and heating was easily adjusted. The location is very convenient for may activities. We were there to XC ski and there are numerous places close by (within 15-20 minutes) . In the summer the location is great as a central location for canoeing or hiking adventures. It is a great value for the price, you will not be disappointed.

I was a bit skeptical after reading many mixed reviews and seeing different ratings on a few travel sites. I've never booked anything with a rating under an 8. It was the free breakfast that made us take a chance. But from the moment we stepped in, altho the lobby was a bit outdated, the front desk was very welcoming and accommodating. Helped with luggage without being asked. Came to our rescue right away when the TV remote wasn't working. The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed a very good sleep. Right outside was the road but very light traffic so we weren't disturbed one bit. If you look at the details of the room, sure there are areas that could use some work, but it's cosmetic. Shower wall tiles were new. Vacuum cleaner may have missed a spot, but all in all the room was very clean and comfy. There was water and coffee in the lobby area available. Breakfast was good for our taste. Waffle maker made some very tender waffles. No toppings offered, but they had marmalade which was good. Brought our own maple syrup. Eggs and sausage were what you'd expect at a hotel. We got a good price for the room, which really should have an 8+ rating, and would return if we were in the area again.

Kevin was the absolute best!! He was our front desk clerk and incredibly helpful. When we first saw our room it had not been cleaned yet. Normally, that means getting a new room, but since it was a handicap specific room, that wasn't possible. He had it cleaned in 15 minutes and oversaw it personally. With that kind of service, it's the only place I'm staying next time I'm in the area

I booked this room when everything else was way overpriced. I was nervous after reading reviews but it was great. Staff was friendly and hard working. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. It seemed recently remodeled (room 212), looked much better than online pics. Definitely recommend.

Especially at this price point, this was a great hotel! I didn't use the pool, but knowing it was there was nice. The breakfast was above my expectation and I was happy that it was pet friendly. My only criticism is that it was hard to know for certain if I had gotten a pet friendly room. There was no check box. When I registered. It took several phone calls to get somebody that could answer the question to confirm it was pet friendly. I made note of it in my reservation in the special requests field. That seemed to get the job done. I would definitely stay here again! A real value I thought
